It have always had a little garden of some sort. And the pantry is usually stocked and pretty versatile. I love it when the husband is walking back and forth from the frig to the pantry grumbling that we have nothing to eat in the house.
Well, I can pull something together 99.9% of the time. Hands down.
The last time we had unexpected company (they basically invited themselves over for drinks and snacks), I hightailed it out my side door to the garden and unearthed gorgeous little watermelon radishes. In the sink, washed, peeled and sliced. Then I grabbed a can of white beans from the pantry and added 2 tsp dried shiitake mushroom powder, a little dill weed, red sea salt, and pepper. Into the Vitamix - and add enough vegan mayo for a nice crab- like pate. Spread onto the radishes, garnish with sesame seed and peas sprouts and there you go.
All you need is the bottle opener for that Frey Chardonnay.
You can do it. I know you can. Sustainably Vegan.
