Repurposing food stuffs. Today's challenge. I always say use everything and what doesn't fit goes to compost.
Take the beet. Prep and roast the beet and steam the greens. You have a delicious serving of beetroot and can serve the greens with bulgar, or other green. It has endless choices - you decide.
That also goes for most root veggies. Let's take the carrot. Why not repurpose the greens into an outstanding side dish, a salad turned veggie...
Let's talk carrot tops.
It's sauteed with sesame seed oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce, Japanese cooking sake and raw sugar.
You just sprinkle them on your rice bowl.
